We build and improve homes in and around the Madison/Dane County area. While we enjoy working on projects at all levels of finish and price, we specialize in the more unique and challenging projects. The key to our ability to deliver successful projects is relationship driven. We form good relationships and collaborate with everyone involved in a project, including our client, designers, and all subs and suppliers on our team. Most of our work consists of referrals from happy clients and the designers and architects we’ve built relationships with over the years. Our character, attention to details, excellent craftsmanship, and creative problem solving are the things our clients appreciate and comment on the most.
We know that building exceptional homes requires an exceptional team. Every person involved in our process—our carefully selected subcontractors, and our trusted suppliers—adds depth, expertise, and reliability. Together, we create a construction experience and final product that our clients can feel confident in.
Jim joined Bluestone in 2011 and is now the sole owner. His leadership, experience, and hands‑on approach contribute to a smooth process and a high‑quality finished product. He oversees all project management aspects of the business, spending most of his time on job sites and meeting with clients and team members to ensure every detail is executed with care.
With more than 30 years of experience managing construction projects, Jim is also a highly skilled and creative carpenter. His background includes a wide range of custom builds with complex details and elevated finishes. The knowledge he has gained over decades in the field allows him to confidently lead even the most challenging projects.
Jim’s extensive experience prior to Bluestone shaped his commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and client‑focused service—values that continue to define the company today.
